Chia seeds are rich in both protein and fiber content which helps to lose weight. Two tablespoons of chia seeds have 10 grams of fiber. Diets which have high fiber are helpful in weight management. 

These help to lose belly fat. Due to the presence of protein, it helps to stay fuller for longer period of time.

Loaded with antioxidants

Antioxidants fight free radicals which cause damage to body cells. Hence, as Chia seeds are rich in antioxidants it is always better to add them to your diet. Antioxidants have protective effects on your heart, liver and also have anticancer properties.

Chia seeds have several nutrients that are important for bone health like magnesium, phosphorus and calcium.

Stir-fry – This is a healthy quick meal to just stir fry a few veggies. You can then add chia seeds to stir fries. Just a tablespoon of seeds and mix well! 

Salads – Seeds can be included in the salad dressing – olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice and including chia seeds to this to make it an even better healthy salad dressing. 

Chia pudding – Of Course this had to be included! Chia pudding is my all time favorite. All you need to make a tasty pudding is chia seeds, milk, sweetener of choice (honey / maple syrup)  and then top it up with fresh fruits the next morning.

Simplest way to include Chia seeds

One of the easiest ways to include these to your everyday routine would be by simply adding them to water! 

To begin with, you can add 1 tbsp of chia seeds to 1 cup of water and let it rest for an hour. 

To add some flavor to your drink, you can squeeze in a lemon or orange or even add in some fresh fruit.

Do chia seeds have side effects?

Consumption of these seeds without a balance can cause side effects. 

Yes, this superfood when not consumed in moderation can lead to side effects just like any other food item! 

Eating too many or including sudden higher intake of chia seeds to your routine can cause digestive issues. 

Some people might also be allergic (itching, bloating or swelling) to chia seeds. However, this is a rare condition.

The bottom line, chia seeds are nutritious and have numerous benefits. Including chia seeds to your routine will be beneficial to many. However, the most important point is to have them in moderation.

You can start by including 1 tbsp of seeds to your routine and study your body’s acceptance to it. Depending on that one can increase or modify the intake of seeds.
